The Green Bay Packers have released running back Don Jackson and defensive end B.J. McBryde, a day before the team is set to begin training camp.
Jackson, 22, signed with Green Bay on May 6 after going undrafted out of Nevada. The 5-foot-10, 208-pound running back rushed for 1,082 yards and eight touchdowns for the Wolfpack in 2015, starting each of the team’s 12 games.
The Packers signed the 6-foot-5, 303-pound McBryde to their practice squad this past November. The 24-year-old played four seasons at UCONN, recording 33 tackles (15 solo), two tackles for a loss and a pass defensed, and went undrafted in 2015.
The moves bring Green Bay’s roster down to 88 players. The Packers begin training camp at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at Ray Nitschke Field.
