Packers star Rodgers joins Bucks’ ownership group

Aaron Rodgers officially owns the Milwaukee Bucks. Or rather, part of the Milwaukee Bucks.

More Bucks coverage

The Green Bay Packers star has joined the Bucks’ ownership group as a limited partner, the team announced Friday during Game 3 of their first-round playoff series with the Boston Celtics. According to the Bucks, Rodgers is the only active NFL player to hold such a stake in an NBA team.

“I have proudly called Wisconsin my home for the past 13 years, and I am thankful for the friendships and the opportunities I have been given to live and play here,” Rodgers said in a statement. “I am excited and honored to deepen my connection to the region by joining Wes Edens, Marc Lasry, Jamie Dinan, Mike Fascitelli and the ownership group of the Milwaukee Bucks.”

A native of California, Rodgers has become a fixture across the Wisconsin sports scene, and has been spotted taking in Bucks games and cheering on the Badgers men’s basketball team.

Rodgers was originally drafted by the Packers in 2005, and has been their starting quarterback since 2008.
