Coaching change causes four-star recruit to rethink Marquette

Marquette commit Nick Noskowiak has re-opened his recruitment process following the departure of Buzz Williams to Virginia Tech.

Ranked as a four-star recruit and the ninth-best point guard in the class of 2015 by Scout.com, the Sun Prairie (Wis.) High School star originally gave a verbal to Williams and the Golden Eagles last April.

Noskowiak sent out a pair of tweets Wednesday morning to further explain his current situation. Marquette introduced Duke associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski as its head coach Tuesday afternoon.

"My family and I have decided what’s best for me is to open my recruitment up and keep my options open…I am no longer comitted (sic) to Marquette."

"I think extremely highly of coach Wojciechowski and will consider Marquette with any other school that is interested in me…"

After Noskowiak publicly announced his decision to open up his recruitment, Xavier and Creighton have reportedly offered scholarships. His AAU coach told Scout.com when he committed that Creighton, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee had offered scholarships, while Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Florida had shown interest.

Noskowiak averaged 20.0 points per game this past season, leading Sun Prairie to the WIAA sectional final.
