The exclamation point on Team Hill’s victory in the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge on Friday came from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With the game already decided, the Milwaukee Bucks rookie needed just two dribbles to get from one free throw line to the other, finishing with a double-clutch, reverse jam. Sure, nobody was playing any defense at that point, but it was another impressive moment for Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo scored nine points with two rebounds and two assists on 3-for-3 shooting in 17 minutes, helping Team Hill to a 142-136 victory over Team Webber.
All three of Antetokounmpo’s shots came close to the basket, as two dunks and a layup were his field goals. The rookie also hit three of his four free-throw attempts.
Detroit center Andre Drummond was named MVP of the exhibition, finishing with 30 points and 25 rebounds for Team Hill. Dion Waiters scored 31 and Bradley Beal added 21 for the winners.
Knicks rookie guard Tim Hardaway Jr. scored a game-high 36 points in a losing cause.
Antetokounmpo’s All-Star weekend isn’t quite over, as he’ll take part in the Skills Challenge on Saturday night.
