Davies has suddenly become one of Milwaukee's most consistent starting pitchers. On Aug, 26, he held down the Dodgers powerhouse, blanking Los Angeles over seven innings while allowing just three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts to earn his 15th win of the season. Davies has allowed 1 or 0 earned runs in six of his last eight starts to dip his season ERA from 5.08 to 3.91.

Domingo Santana, Brewers outfielder (↑ UP)
The 25-year-old Santana's breakout season continues. In Milwaukee's five games last week, the Brewers' right fielder had seven hits, including a double and home run, and boasted a slash line of .438/.526/.688. He is now hitting .274/.368/.471 on the season with 21 home runs. Did we mention he's only 25?

Beyond Santana, it was a tough week for Milwaukee's hitters. No other regular hit above .214 (Travis Shaw), with Orlando Arcia (2 for 17), Ryan Braun (1 for 17), Keon Broxton (2 for 15) and Eric Thames (1 for 13) particularly struggling. Amazingly, the Brewers still won two of three against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Brett Goode, Packers long snapper (↑ UP)
Goode is like a human boomerang. Green Bay just can't get rid of him. After being the Packers' long snapper from 2008-15, he was hurt late in the 2015 season. Brought in last year during training camp, he won his job back. A free agent after the 2016 season, Goode remained unsigned until the Packers brought him back (again) a couple of weeks ago. And guess what? He won the job again. We shouldn't be surprised, I guess.

Badgers linebacker corps (↓ DOWN)
Jack Cichy was already lost for the year and then word came down that outside linebacker Zack Baun, a redshirt sophomore, also will miss the 2017 season due to a foot injury. In addition, promising redshirt freshman Mason Stokke, an inside linebacker, is also listed as out for the season. Wisconsin's depth at OLB isn't that strong, with the backups behind starters seniors Garret Dooley and Leon Jacobs being Andrew Van Ginkel, a JUCO transfer, redshirt sophomore Tyler Johnson, who has little game-playing experience, and a host of freshmen. This group might not be able to handle any more big injuries.

With fourth-round draft pick Vince Biegel on the shelf and Clay Matthews kind of banged up, what can a team do? Well, Green Bay went out and reportedly added a former Pro Bowl linebacker in Ahmed Brooks, who also is a two-time second-team All-Pro. Unexpectedly let go by San Francisco, the 33-year-old Brooks should help fill the void after losing Julius Peppers in the offseason. Brooks has recorded at least five sacks in each of the least eight seasons, with a career high of 8.5 in 2013.
