Dog handler Jenny Rangel describes that winning Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show feeling
“It’s the validation of everything that we’ve been working for.” Dog handler Jenny Rangel describes that winning feeling at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show: “It’s the fact that they love the dog as much as we love the dog.” Presented by Purina Pro Plan.
JENNY RANGEL: My name is Jenny Rangel. I'm a professional dog handler from Santa Barbara, California. I remember the first time I was at Westminster.
And I got to win my first breed there. And what made it even sweeter was it was a dog that my mom and I bred, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I'll never forget my first win there.
Dogs absolutely get stage fright. Personality plays a huge part in this, because it is a dog show. If they don't like doing it, there's no making them do it. But there's some dogs that just turn it on, love the audience, love showing.
The feeling when the judge points at you, it never gets old. It's a validation of everything that we've been working for. It's the fact that they love the dog as much as we love the dog. And the animal you're showing that you believe so much in is awarded best in show, the best of the day.
