Norco star quarterback Victor Viramontes commits to Cal

Victor Viramontes made himself into one of the top quarterbacks in the CIF-SS last fall.

And he was rewarded on National Signing Day.

The 6-foot, 215-pound Viramontes announced his signing with Cal in a clever video, splicing together training footage with an instant message montage.

"They’re actually recruiting me as a quarterback and my parents like that," Viramontes told Scout.com prior to his announcement. "Berkeley is a cool area and there’s a ton of stuff to do there. Coach Dykes is great and I like the staff a lot. They don’t have an OC in place yet but that’s Coach Dykes’ offense so he said nothing will change from what they run now."

During his senior season in 2015, in which Norco finished 8-3, Viramontes passed for 2,085 yards and 21 touchdowns and added 3.5 tackles for loss from his linebacker position.
