Detroit — Propelled by hot first-half shooting, the Detroit Mercy Titans defeated the Bowling Green State University Falcons Saturday afternoon at Calihan Hall 73-69.

With the win, the Titans snapped a short two-game losing streak and equaled their victory total (seven) from the previous two seasons.

Sophomore Chase Simon led Detroit with 15 points, and sophomore Eli Holman posted his fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. All 10 Titans that played scored, something coach Ray McCallum said was crucial to the win.
