Serra’s Jackson headlines 2014 West Coast Bowl

He’s an All-American. California’s Mr. Football. The CIF Western Division Defensive Player of the Year, and for one last time as a high schooler, Adoree’ Jackson will be suiting up and playing in front of Southern California fans in the 2nd Annual South Bay BMW West Coast Bowl hosted by B2G Sports on Sunday, at 1 p.m. at Redondo Union High School.

One of the many top prep players from across the nation featured in the all star game, Jackson will suit up for Team Impact led by San Diego Lincoln head coach David Dunn. Narbonne head coach Manuel Douglas will direct Team Speed.

Jacskon’s Serra teammates, Dwight Williams, a UCLA commit, and Olajuwon Tucker, a USC commit, will line up for Team Speed.

Some of the other notables playing in the game include Palmdale running back Demario Richard (Team Impact), Long Beach Cabrillo wide receiver Rahshead Johnson (Team Impact), former Corona Centennial defensive back John Plattenburg Jr. (Team Impact) who finished his high school career in Texas, from the Inland Division champion Corona Centennial Huskies, Barry Ware (Team Speed), and from the national champion St. John Bosco Braves, Chandler Leniu (Team Speed).

At halftime of the game will be the announcement of the West Coast Bowl Player of the Year.

B2G Sports is making it a weekend. On Saturday, Jan. 25 there will be a 7-on-7 competition and a linemen challenge for top underclassmen.

"We are looking forward to a great weekend of football with the centerpiece being the West Coast Bowl," B2G Chief Creative Officer Henry Bell said in a statement. "We have been able to attract some of the top high school football players in the country and we are excited about their opportunity to showcase their talents one final time before they play on the next level."

Last season, the Green Team defeated the Red Team 21-16 in the first Annual West Coast Bowl played at the then-Home Depot Center in Carson.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s West Coast Bowl will go to Seattle Seahawks cornerback and Compton Dominguez alum Richard Sherman’s Blanket Coverage foundation to assists kids with school supplies and clothing. Sherman is a B2G alum.
