Report: Kobe on starting season healthy: ‘I hope so’

Kobe Bryant will play in 2013-14, but might not be ready for Oct. 29.

Bryant, hosting the Kobe Bryant Health & Fitness Weekend in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, told Time Out Dubai, “I’m feeling pretty good … stronger than I was. I’m ahead of (my recovery) schedule.

“I don’t know (whether) that means I’ll start the season – I hope so.”

With or without their injured star, the Lakers open the season vs. Doc Rivers and the Clippers on Oct. 29 at Staples Center.

Bryant has been sidelined since April 13 after tearing his Achilles tendon.

He has since posted workout videos, including one of him jumping off a 40-foot diving board — feet first — and another of running on a treadmill.
