Kobe makes appearance at Drew League final

LOS ANGELES — He came and wowed Drew League fans in the summer of 2011 by hitting a game winning jumper at the buzzer.

On Tuesday night, Kobe Bryant walked into the gym at King-Drew High School in South Central Los Angeles to a standing ovation from the Drew League faithful.

Bryant was in attendance for the Drew League championship game between Hank’s Blazers featuring Clippers center Ryan Hollins and Kings of LA led by newly acquired Portland Trail Blazers forward Dorell Wright.

Tuesday marked the conclusion of the 40th anniversary season for the league.

James Harden and Kevin Durant were among NBA all stars to have played in the league this summer.

On Tuesday, Bryant was a spectator in what was yet another public appearance for him this summer on his road to recovery from a torn Achilles suffered in April.

Bryant continues to wow doctors with his recovery. He recently said he’s “shattered” the recovery time for an Achilles injury.

Just Monday, he posted a video of himself running on an anti-gravity treadmill.
