Kings goalie Peter Budaj named ‘Third Star’ of Week ending Feb. 5
The LA Kings got some pleasant news to start off a new week on Monday.
Goalie Peter Budaj was named the ‘Third Star’ of the Week ending Feb. 5.
Budaj tallied a 3-1 record with a 1.62 goals-against average, .930 save percentage and two shutouts as the Kings moved to 27-22-4 on the season.
The other two ‘Stars’ of the week were Carolina right wing Sebastian Aho and Minnesota center Mikael Granlund.

Budaj, a 34-year-old native of Slovakia, has compiled a 25-15-3 record (NHL-leading seven shutouts) during the 2016-17 campaign while filling in for the injured Jonathan Quick.
Los Angeles also holds the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, according to the NHL release.
