Reigning British Open champ Jordan Spieth to play 2018 Genesis Open

If you weren't planning on going to Riviera next month, this may change your mind!

Jordan Spieth, who won the 2017 British Open, has committed to play in the 2018 Genesis Open Feb. 12-18.

It will be Spieth's fifth-career professional start at Riviera Country Club.

"Riviera is one of my favorite courses in the world," said Spieth in a statement. "I will always remember winning the 2012 NCAA Championship there and it's always a thrill coming back."

In four professional starts at The Riviera Country Club, Spieth best finish was tied for fourth in 2015. As a member of the University of Texas men's golf team, Spieth helped lead the Longhorns to the NCAA championship in 2012.

Spieth, currently No. 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking, is a three-time major winner and has 11 victories on the PGA Tour.
