"Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life — in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions. Cordell is an amazing young man with many talents, and we wish him nothing but the best as he continues to pursue his degree at UCLA," said UCLA football coach Jim Mora in a statement.
This also follows the highly-publicized June fight between another rapper, Diddy, who reportedly mixed it up with UCLA strength coach Sal Alosi regarding the way Alosi was talking to Diddy’s son, cornerback Justin Coombs, at a recent practice.
Broadus is a former four-star recruit who prepped at Diamond Bar High School before transferring to Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. His commitment to UCLA was huge for the Bruins community, especially for his father, a longtime USC fan.
