Clippers’ Blake Griffin leaves Houston Rockets game with back spasm
HOUSTON — Blake Griffin left the Clippers’ game Saturday night in the first quarter after suffering a lower back spasm and is unlikely to return, the Clippers said.
Griffin went down holding his back with 5:49 left in the opening period against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center. The power forward limped to the locker room with Jasen Powell, the Clippers’ head athletic trainer.
Griffin had scored seven points, making two of three field-goal attempts and three of three free throws, before he went down.
Griffin is one point shy of tying Ken Norman for seventh on the Clippers’ all-time scoring list. Griffin has 6,431 points.
