Chargers CB Casey Hayward named AFC Defensive Player of the Month
Casey Hayward had himself a month.
The Los Angeles Chargers cornerback has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November, the league announced on Thursday.
Hayward totaled three interceptions, eight tackles and broke up a pass as the Chargers went 2-1 during the month (including bye week on Nov. 5).
The 2012 second-round pick led the league in 2016 with seven picks en route to his first Pro Bowl selection. Hayward enters Week 13 of 2017 season with four interceptions this season and 11 since the start of 2016.
The Vanderbilt product is the highest graded (96.8) cornerback in the league this season according to Pro Football Focus.
