Bears’ Briggs, Pace doubtful for Rams game

CHICAGO (AP) — Pro
Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs is doubtful for the Chicago Bears’ game
against the St. Louis Rams, and left tackle Orlando Pace likely won’t
play against his former team Sunday.

Both players were injured in last week’s 36-10 loss to Minnesota.

Losing Briggs (sprained left knee) would be another big blow for a team
that is 4-7 after dropping four straight and six of seven. He leads the
Bears with 108 tackles and is just about the only bright spot for a
defense that gave up 537 yards to the Vikings.

Pace (strained groin) hasn’t played to the level that carried him to
seven Pro Bowls in 12 seasons with the Rams after signing a three-year
contract with the Bears.

Tight end Desmond
Clark (neck), defensive tackle Tommie Harris (knee) and cornerback
Charles Tillman (mild concussion) are questionable.
