Mike Trout is not a fan of players that use performance enhancing drugs.
If it was up to the Angels’ superstar, Alex Rodriguez, who’s currently appealing his 211-game suspension, would be banned from baseball for life.
“To me, personally, I think you should be out of the game if you get
caught,” Trout told New York radio
station WFAN on Monday. “It takes away from the guys that are working hard every
day and doing it all-natural.”
Trout, the American League Rookie of the Year for the 2012 season, is frustrated by players who use PEDs to boost numbers.
“Some people just are just trying to find that extra edge,” said Trout, who is batting .330 with 20 home runs and 73 RBI. “It’s tough as a guy that goes out there and
plays hard every day and puts [in] 110 percent effort … to wake up,
see there’s a list of guys that are on the list. It’s good that MLB
caught them and they’re moving in the right direction with suspensions
Trout and the Angels, sitting in fourth place in the AL West (53-63 through Monday) open a four-game stand vs. the New York Yankees tonight starting at 3:30 p.m. PT on FOX Sports West.
