Nick reveals why it’s better for sports fans that the Astros beat the Dodgers in GM 2 of the World Series
Nick Wright explains to Jenna Wolfe and Danny Kanell why it was good for baseball fans that the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in their thrilling comeback win of GM 2 of the World Series.
- You took like the best team in the National League and the best team in the American League, and you pitted them up against each other because they were in the last two men standing at the very end, which is what you want in a real championship series.
- Unless you're a Yankees fan--
- Right, but that-- but that's why last night was so awesome if you're just a sports fan, if you don't have a rooting interest in this series. This, theoretically, could be an epic World Series. But if the Dodgers won last night, it was not going to be.
Like, if the Dodgers won last night, to me, they would have won the World Series. You are not beating the 2017 Los Angeles Dodgers four out of five times. Not when they can throw Clayton Kershaw one, maybe two more times, if they want to. Like, you're just not.
And so, the Astros comeback-- coming back in this game, and then taking a lead in the 10th, and then weathering the storm that it was tied up in the 10th, and ultimately winning the game is what's going to allow us, the viewing public, to potentially get a six, maybe even seven game series. When, if the Dodgers won last night, I think this thing's over in four or five.
