Matt Brown: I don’t really wish anything good for Jon Jones at this point

Following a brief hiatus, "The Great MMA Debate" returns with a brand new show where we talk Jon Jones, Mayweather-Pacquiao and the recent Reebok sponsorship numbers.

UFC welterweight Matt Brown discusses his new fight with Tim Means at UFC 189 while also talking about his recent re-dedication to the sport by cutting out everything in his life that distracts him from one day being a champion.

The team will also delve into the recent allegations levied against Jon Jones after he was arrested on felony charges for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident before being suspended and stripped of his UFC title.

"I never wanted to throw Jon Jones under the bus for the coke, I don’t give a (expletive) if you go party or the other things that he’s done," Brown said about the Jones situation. "This one I didn’t like because he (allegedly) left a pregnant woman at the scene hurt. There’s no way he didn’t know. I don’t believe for a second he didn’t know what he was doing.

"So selfish. I don’t really wish anything good for him at this point."

Also on the podcast, we dive into the numbers released Wednesday for the new Reebok uniform deal that will begin for UFC fighters on July 11 at UFC 189.

Since Brown is fighting on that particular card for his next bout, he weighed in on the subject and how the numbers will affect him long term.

"I’m pretty much indifferent to it. I’m making similar numbers off it," Brown revealed. "Gross numbers, I’m making similar numbers after paying management and different things. In that sense, it’s better. Now I don’t have to worry about chasing sponsors. I don’t have to worry about posting 20 different social-media things for sponsors.

"What it comes down to is fighting, it doesn’t come down to advertisement."

Hear this and so much more as Brown, Jeremy Loper and Damon Martin discuss everything going on in the world of fighting on the latest "Great MMA Debate" podcast.
