Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her title at UFC 193 against Canadian contender Valerie Letourneau in the new co-main event joining Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm, as the UFC puts both women’s titles on the line on the same card for the first time in history.
Both women’s fights originally were slated to be the co-main events at UFC 195 in Las Vegas on Jan. 2. The UFC moved them up to November in Melbourne, Australia, after the UFC 193 main card between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit had to be rescheduled due to injury. (As it turns out, Lawler-Condit now will headline UFC 195.)
Jedrzejczyk will make her second title defense when she returns to action after destroying Jessica Penne in her last fight in June. The Polish striker has been nothing short of astonishing in her past few fights while beating a who’s who at 115 pounds, including victories over Claudia Gadelha and Carla Esparza.

Letourneau will get her first crack at the gold after dropping to 115 pounds two fights ago. The American Top Team fighter had been a mainstay at bantamweight while facing some of the best opponents in the world at 135 pounds. Since dropping to strawweight, Letourneau has gone 2-0 and is coming off a victory over Maryna Moroz.
