UFC 169 main event matchup: Breaking down Barao vs. Faber

Head-2-Head has the UFC 169 main event all figured out.

In 2013, the resurgence of Team Alpha Male was one of the year’s big story lines. Under the tutelage of Duane “Bang” Ludwig, the Sacramento, California-based camp punched and choked their way back into the limelight.

But the team always said that they would ultimately judged on winning championships. At the end of the year, in December, Joseph Benavidez got the first crack, and lost badly to Demetrious Johnson.

Now the mantle passes to the team’s de facto captain, Urijah Faber, who has been the symbol of championship struggle. After dominating contenders in 2013, Faber has to beat Renan Barao or face the same public notion that Alpha Male can’t win when it matters the most.
