Robert Whittaker meets Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night in Australia

A middleweight bout with fireworks written all over it is headed to Australia as Robert Whittaker meets Derek Brunson on Nov. 26 in Melbourne.

UFC officials announced the new matchup on Wednesday night.

Brunson makes a quick turn around after a vicious first round knockout over Uriah Hall last weekend in Hidalgo, TX, which marked his fifth win in a row overall.

Brunson has bee making a steady climb up the middleweight rankings while finishing four out of his last five opponents by knockout or TKO.

Meanwhile, Whittaker has been on a tear since moving up to 185 pounds after starting his career in the UFC as a welterweight.

Whittaker has also won five fights in a row including victories over Uriah Hall and Rafael Natal in his most recent bouts.

Now Whittaker will fight close to home as the New Zealand native competes in Australia as part of the latest UFC Fight Night card headed down under.
