Nate Diaz won't fight again until trilogy with Conor McGregor happens

LAS VEGAS — Nate Diaz was not satisfied with the judges giving Conor McGregor a majority decision win over him at UFC 202, so he's ready to do it all over again.

In fact, Diaz says he's only interested in a third fight with McGregor and nothing else is going to get him back into the Octagon until that happens.

"If they want set it up as soon as possible, let's do it," Diaz said following the end of UFC 202 on Saturday night. "I don't think it's a very good business move for him to be taking any other fights. He's a businessman. So we'll see what happens."

Diaz and McGregor earned "Fight of the Night" honors for a battle that will likely go down as one of greatest wars in UFC history.

For five straight rounds, Diaz and McGregor battled back and forth until the judges rendered a very close majority decision for the current UFC featherweight champion.

As disappointed as Diaz was that he came away with a loss when he believes it should have been a win, he says he wants a third fight with McGregor as nothing else really interests him right now.

"Not that I'm waiting but I don't need to do nothing," Diaz said with a laugh.

Diaz earned a whopping $2 million guaranteed payday for his fight with McGregor so he's probably correct that he could wait for quite some time until a third bout materializes.

Even with that paycheck, Diaz says the money he made still wasn't satisfactory but that's not because he's not thankful for the money.

According to Diaz, no amount of money will ever justify the damage fighters take inside the Octagon so he'll always be gunning for more each and every time he steps foot in the Octagon.

"It's still not enough," Diaz said about his salary. "It's never going to be enough. Look at my face and I'm OK. People looking at this face probably back crying somewhere probably.

"It's always going to be more."
