Luke Rockhold picked up his second UFC win last Saturday night with a dominant first round submission victory over former top 10 ranked middleweight Tim Boetsch, but he didn’t come out of the fight unscathed.

Rockhold revealed at the UFC 172 post fight press conference that during the brief fight, he managed to break a toe on his right foot.

While the injury didn’t prevent him from executing a picture perfect game plan, he still needed to get the toe checked out by doctors and that’s what he did this week, just days after his victory.

On Thursday, Rockhold released a picture of the x-ray of his broken toe via Instagram, which happened on the right foot on his middle toe.

According to Rockhold’s post, the broken toe will only keep him out of action for a few weeks, which is standard fare for most fighters after competing anyways so this just forces him to take a little down time before booking his next bout.

Rockhold is currently ranked No. 5 in the world according to the UFC rankings and could make a push into title contention with his next fight inside the Octagon.
