The upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Rockhold card has picked up two more bouts including a featured showdown in the women’s strawweight division where Felice Herrig will meet upstart contender Paige VanZant in New Jersey.

The card takes place on April 18 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The other fight confirmed for the same night is a lightweight showdown between recent ‘Performance of the Night’ winner Paul Felder as he takes on New Jersey native Jim Miller.

Both fights were confirmed via UFC Tonight on Wednesday.

The women’s fight added to the card will feature two of the top names in the strawweight division with Herrig gaining a huge amount of notoriety after taking part on the last season of The Ultimate Fighter.  Herrig didn’t make it to the championship bout, but did make short work of fellow housemate Lisa Ellis when they met at the finale last December.

As for VanZant, the plucky 20-year old made her debut in November where she put on one of the best fights of the year when she defeated fellow newcomer Kailin Curran. VanZant has quickly become one of the most talked about fighters on the UFC roster and now she’ll get a much brighter spotlight for her next matchup with the fight against Herrig expected to take place on the main card.

The lightweight fight between Felder and Miller is also a very intriguing addition to the card.  Felder remains an undefeated prospect, who just recently earned his first ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus when he used a spinning back fist to knock out Team Alpha Male fighter Danny Castillo in brutal fashion at UFC 182.

Miller has been out of action since losing to Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone last July and he’s likely champing at the bit to get back in the cage while also doing so in his home state of New Jersey.

More fights for the upcoming FOX UFC Fight Night card are expected to be added in the coming days.
