Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has been cast as part of the new Netflix limited series "Godless" from Scott Frank and Steven Soderbergh.

Cerrone revealed the news while appearing on "The Joe Rogan Podcast" on Tuesday after saying that he just got outfitted for the new project that's filming in his home state of New Mexico.

"It's a Netflix series. I got six episodes. Going to do cowboy (expletive)," Cerrone said. "It's called "Godless".

"I'm part of a gang, a train robbery gang. I'm excited. We start on the 12th."

The new series created by Frank, who is an Academy Award nominated writer for his work on the film "Get Shorty", stars Jeff Daniels, Jack O'Connell, Merritt Weaver and Scoot McNairy. Soderbergh, who won the 2000 Academy Award for best director, is also on board to executive produce the series as well.

"Godless" is a period piece set in 1884 as Frank Griffin (Daniels), an outlaw who is terrorizing the West while looking for his former partner Roy Goode (O'Connell) on a mission of revenge. The search for Roy ends up in a town called La Belle, New Mexico, which is comprised entirely of women after a mining accident claimed the lives of all the men.

From the sound of things, Cerrone might be part of Griffin's band of outlaws, who are traveling across New Mexico with him in the hunt for his old partner.

"Godless" is expected to debut on Netflix in 2017 for a limited series run on the subscription-based service.
