Now that Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva is officially set as the main event, the Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 finale card in Sao Paulo is beginning to fill out.

One possibility for the event appears to be Demian Maia taking on Mike Pierce, reports UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani. The middleweight clash would likely be on the main card of the May 31 show.

Maia (18-6) will be looking to get back on track after losing two straight, the latest a unanimous decision defeat against Rory MacDonald at UFC 170 in February. Before that, the Brazilian fell to Jake Shields in a controversial decision. Once known as one of the top welterweights in the UFC when he dropped down from 185, the 36-year-old Maia has now fallen to No. 8 in the UFC contender rankings.

Pierce (17-6) is also coming off a loss. He fell to Rousimar Palhares at UFC Fight Night in October, the same card in which Maia lost to Shields. Palhares beat Pierce by heel hook submission and continued the hold after the bell, which caused Pierce to sprain his MCL and tear an ankle ligament. Palhares was released by the UFC soon after. Before that, Pierce, 33, had won four in a row.

Sonnen and Silva were officially announced as the headlines of the TUF Brazil finale over the weekend. The two are coaching against one another in this current season of the reality show, which is airing on UFC Fight Pass.
