Conor McGregor vs. Cole Miller announced as UFC Dublin headliner
Conor McGregor is going home.
The charismatic featherweight, finally cleared by doctors after a torn ACL, is set to fight Cole Miller at the UFC’s show in Dublin on July 19. The promotion officially announced the long-rumored matchup on Wednesday.
The bout will headline the UFC Fight Night card, which takes place at The O2.
The 25-year-old McGregor (14-2) has been on the shelf since an August win over Max Holloway after suffering knee damage in the fight. He’s hardly been quiet, however, taking shots at nearly everyone in the division at one time or another.
It was Miller, however, who first called out McGregor, calling him an unproven "show pony" after a victory last October in the U.K.
Miller (21-8) is not currently included in the UFC’s rankings while McGregor is No. 13. The 30-year-old Miller goes into his first UFC main event with wins in three of his last four.
