Brendan Schaub wants Mark Hunt next and Mark Hunt — in true Mark Hunt fashion — is rather indifferent.
Schaub has missed out on some interesting heavyweight fights recently and is pushing for Hunt, Schaub’s manager Lex McMahon told UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani. Schaub wants the New Zealander in a big spot, too — a main event or co-main event.
Hunt, who has been sidelined with a broken hand, isn’t particularly interested in Schaub. He’s gunning for a rematch with Junior dos Santos, which doesn’t look to be possible since dos Santos is taking on Stipe Miocic at UFC 173 in May.

"That’s like going backwards," Hunt told Helwani about Schaub. "I want a rematch with JDS. Schaub is like going back, not forward. But if Schaub wants to be put to sleep first, then why not?"
Hunt (9-8-1), who fought Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva to a draw in one of the best fights of 2013 back in December, hopes to return by June or July. Hunt is No. 8 in the UFC heavyweight rankings.
Schaub (10-3), ranked 14th among UFC heavyweight contenders, has won two straight, the latest a submission over Matt Mitrione in September.
