A new bout has been added to the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in San Diego as Alan Jouban takes on Matt Dwyer in a matchup in the welterweight division.

UFC officials confirmed the fight to FOX Sports on Wednesday.

Jouban (11-3) was originally expected to return in June to fight in his home state of Louisiana, but unfortunately he wasn’t healed up in time from his previous trip to the Octagon so his next bout had to be slightly delayed.

Jouban will now fight in San Diego on July 15 as he looks to build on his last win where he knocked out former Ultimate Fighter competitor Richard Walsh at UFC 184.

Dwyer (8-2) is also coming off a big knockout win from his last fight in February, when he finished William Macario with a ‘Superman’ punch midway through the first round of their bout in Brazil.

The win moved Dwyer’s UFC record to 1-1 and he looks to add another victory to his resume in July.

UFC Fight Night from San Diego takes place on July 15 with former heavyweight champion Frank Mir taking on Todd Duffee in the five round main event.
