Tanaka leads Rakuten past Nippon Ham

Masahiro Tanaka struck out six Friday to lead the Rakuten Eagles to a 3-2 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters in Game 4 of Japan’s Pacific League championship series.

Tanaka gave up just one walk as the Eagles picked up their first win of the best-of-seven series. Nippon leads 3-1.

Daisuke Kusano drove in the winning run on a two-out single in the top of the third inning at Sapporo Dome.

At Tokyo Dome, the Yomiuri Giants defeated the Chunichi Dragons 5-4 in Game 4 of the Central League series to take a 3-1 series lead.
