Preds release America-themed highlight reel

The video wizards have outdone themselves this time.

After taking down the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 last Thursday, featuring strong showings from American-born players Seth Jones (Texas), Matt Cullen (Minnesota) and Craig Smith (Wisconsin), the Nashville Predators released a video honoring the team’s three goal-scorers, along with any other homegrown talent on the roster.

The result: an ultra-patriotic montage of hockey and America-themed images set to Hulk Hogan’s original theme song.

This is not a test. The Preds redefined Hogan’s “Real American” song with skates, pucks and a whole lot of intentionally awkward bald eagles.

In the clip below, you’ll find nods to Grand Canyon, Top Gun, the Statue of Liberty, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Mt. Rushmore, the Liberty Bell, GI Joe, Robocop, Walker Texas Ranger, Uncle Sam and, of course, Burt Reynolds. Nothing says “Stanley Cup-bound” quite like Burt Reynolds sitting on a Pontiac Trans Am. Nothing.
