Baseball and Softball Equipment Donations Keep Youth in Dallas and Boston in the Game

Dallas, TX & Boston, MA – In honor of the 2020 MLB World Series, FOX Sports and partner Good Sports are donating more than $43,000 worth of brand new sports equipment as part of the“Restore Play” initiative to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dallas to help launch their official baseball and softball programs.

This donation will ensure that 200 kids across eight of the Boys & Girls Clubs will have the equipment needed to play. The donation includes bats, uniforms, batting helmets, baseballs, softballs, fielding gloves, batting gloves, and other necessary equipment.

FOX MLB Studio Analyst, David “Big Papi” Ortiz, is also restoring play for youth in Boston, donating equipment from his Ortiz34 youth baseball line to Home of Champions Baseball in Boston. This group has served young people in the greater Boston area including the Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan neighborhoods for 61 years.

Representatives from Good Sports and Ortiz34 delivered the equipment on site, providing each kid with a t-ball bundle (three pieces of equipment each consisting of a bat, ball and glove), a whiffle ball set for at-home play, and a bat bag. Ortiz is passionate about helping lower income kids stay engaged in sports because he knows how important they are to a child’s upbringing, and how crucial having the proper equipment is for their success.
