Los Angeles – FOX Sports Supports, the charitable branch of FOX Sports, along with 21st Century Fox businesses and FOX Vets, is proud to continue its longtime support of the U.S. Military this Veterans Day. In recognition of all FOX employees who have and continue to serve as armed servicemen and women, a memorial plaque has been created to become a permanent fixture on the FOX Studios lot and will be unveiled Friday morning, Nov. 11.

The “FOX Veterans Memorial Plaque” was fashioned as a symbol of respect and gratitude to the employees who have given the greatest sacrifice for our country to protect our freedoms as veterans and actively serving reservists. All five military branches and their respective crests are represented in demonstration of FOX’s breadth of continued support to the U.S. Armed Forces.

“FOX Sports has and always will continue to support our nation’s heroes.” said Eric Shanks, President, COO and Executive Producer of FOX Sports. “We feel it is crucial to continue to acknowledge the service of veterans and especially those who work alongside us as colleagues.”

FOX Sports Supports and 21st Century Fox businesses demonstrate a significant amount of support year-round to a variety of military organizations that assist military personnel and their families. This year alone has been dedicated to raising awareness for foundations like The Mission Continues, Your Grateful Nation and Merging Vets & Players, in addition to longtime partnerships with domestic U.S. military bases and installations, U.S. Army Reserves Private Public Partnership Office and Employer Support of the Guard & Reserves (ESGR). These partnerships enable FOX Sports on-air broadcasters to visit stationed soldiers and Wounded Warriors centers, as well as allow FOX Sports to activate this year’s December memorial weekend broadcast from Pearl Harbor in honor of the 75th anniversary.

Veterans continue to play an integral role within 21st Century Fox.

“Veterans bring work ethic, problem-solving and leadership skills to the marketplace that make them a valuable prospect for employers.” said Fernando Rivero, Senior Writer/Producer for FX and Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy Reserve. “A vet’s ability to face adversity with action is part of the training we got in the service. Managers who hire vets soon learn that a veteran or reservist employee is a secret weapon.”

The Memorial Plaque reveal is scheduled for Friday at 10:30 AM PT on iconic MovieTone Way on the FOX Studios Lot in Los Angeles, Calif., and will remain in front of the FOX Sports Building indefinitely.
