WWE Rumors: Mickie James Offered Main Roster Deal

WWE may want Mickie James to return to the company, but is there any chance of this happening?

Mickie James is coming off a co-main event spot at NXT TakeOver: Toronto with Asuka for the women’s title. This would be James’ first WWE appearance since 2010, after which she traveled through the independent scene, including making a stop in TNA.

The post-match fallout surrounded around whether the 37 year old would return for another go-around. Nothing seemed to be clear about it especially with emotions running high from being at the Air Canada Centre.

Well, WWE wants her to stick around. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the company has offered her a new contract to be on the main roster. The report notes that no information is known on which brand she would join or the length of the deal.

James joining the main roster would add a veteran talent to a group of recently called up NXT stars. This includes SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Nia Jax, among others. There are already veterans on the roster, but it never hurts to add another to help out the current talent.

At her age and having started a family already, would Mickie want to come back for a full-time schedule, though? That would mean going across the country for weekly shows and potentially doing live events every weekend. It’s something we difficult to speculate on, but that being one of the things up for consideration seems possible.

We’ll see if anything comes of Mickie James potentially signing with WWE. If not, she can continue her work on the independent scene and live with her family as she’s married to former TNA star Magnus.
