WWE Roadblock 2016 Results: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns Video Highlights

Was Kevin Owens able to retain the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WWE Roadblock?

Somehow, Kevin Owens defending the WWE Universal title against U.S. Champion Roman Reigns isn’t the big story. The real hook is the shattered friendship between K.O. and Chris Jericho, largely because of Reigns. It was all part of Reigns’ orchestrated plot to leave Owens on his own and without any help, and so far it’s worked heading into WWE Roadblock.

In fact, Reigns earned this title shot by defeating Owens clean after Jericho left his former friend alone. The last few weeks have seen Owens do anything to get his friend back, but so far it hasn’t worked. And with Jericho facing Seth Rollins earlier in the night, he may not be able to come out even if he wanted to. While we’re talking about broken friendships, let’s not forget Reigns and Rollins have been awfully chummy lately. I think we see an escalation after tonight, but it all depends on how things shake out.

If Reigns wins the Road to WrestleMania gets very interesting.

The Big Dog is ready for The Big Fight, carrying his U.S. championship.

Is this the final episode of The Kevin Owens Show? The champ doesn’t think so.

Clearly the prizefighter isn’t in the mood to fight Reigns tonight. At least not yet.

Slow start to this one as Reigns’ attempts to get going are halted by Owens’ time wasting. So Reigns decided to quit wasting time and took the fight to the champ.

Owens finally started fighting back, using the barrier to his advantage against Reigns.

Owens can talk smack with the best of them, too. Reigns calls himself “The Man”, but Owens is “The Champ”.

This has been a really slow, dragging match with rest hold after rest hold by Owens. Finally something happens when he goes for the Cannonball, only to have Reigns counter with a big boot and a Samoan Drop! Thanks for some action!

Superman Punch by Reigns, but he can’t followup with the Superplex! The champ counters it with a corkscrew driver from the top! Now we’re getting somewhere!

Reason #4080 why Kevin Owens is the smartest wrestler alive. When your opponent announces his finisher, simply get out of the ring.

The champ with a pair of bullfrog splashes through the table! Reigns barely got back in the ring before the 10-count.

A foot on the rope is the only thing that saved Reigns after a massive Pop-Up Powerbomb!

Reigns with the Spear, just as Owens was trying to hit him with the title. But before anything else could happen, Chris Jericho hit the ring and….Codebreaker on Owens! Reigns was disqualified and Owens retains!

Kevin & Chris are together again! It was all a trick!

It’s not over, though. Seth Rollins hits the ring, and he and Reigns lay waste to everybody. Spear on Owens!

SHIELD powerbomb on Jericho through the table!  Followed by another on Owens! I smell a tag team match for Raw.

Trav’s Thoughts: Slow, dull match for most of the way, but it picked up towards the end. Unfortunately, the DQ was a bummer that capped off a mediocre night. As I teased in the beginning, this is only going further from here. We might see a fatal four-way or tag match coming up soon.
