WWE NXT UK: Sept. 25, 2019
After weeks of trying to get inside Trent Seven’s head, Noam Dar walked away with a disqualification win when The Artful Dodger snapped during their one-on-one matchup. Plus, Jordan Devlin antagonized Tyler Bate, Ligero overcame Oliver Carter, and Nina Samuels scored another win against Dani Luna.
Ligero def. Oliver Carter
In the final moments of an opening contest between two purely explosive athletes, Ligero glided between the ropes to blast Oliver Carter with a stunner. He then followed up with a superkick kick and the C4L for the victory over the charismatic up-and-comer.
Jordan Devlin confronts Tyler Bate
For the first time since his incredible 45-minute title showdown against WWE United Kingdom Champion WALTER at NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff, Tyler Bate addressed the WWE Universe to express regret over letting the fans down, but he quickly let them know that he was far from finished.
He was soon interrupted by Jordan Devlin, however, who was still resentful over “being sidelined” at TakeOver. The Irish Ace explained that he was the only competitor truly capable of overcoming The Ring General and that he is a man while Tyler is just a boi.
When Bate exited the ring to confront the outspoken competitor, Devlin made his retreat.
Nina Samuels def. Dani Luna
“The Nina Samuels Show” was in full swing on this week’s NXT UK when she overcame the powerful Dani Luna for another impressive win. When her opponent took a moment too long coming over the top rope, Samuels had the presence of mind to duck out of the way. She then levered her foe with the big boot before finishing her off with the Final Act.
Noam Dar def. Trent Seven by Disqualification
Last week, the always obnoxious Noam Dar enlisted the help of his megaphone to heckle Trent Seven backstage and make the stunning claim that “British Strong Style is dead.” As a result, The Artful Dodger stepped back into competition for the first time in several months to teach The Scottish Supernova a lesson he won’t soon forget.
Throughout the hard-fought match, Dar continued to attempt to get inside the head of his foe, but he took his taunts too far near the end of the bout. Perhaps sensing victory, Dar picked up Seven’s towel and used it in a disrespectful manner.
Fueled by anger, Seven countered Dar’s Nova Roller attempt with a thunderous lariat. Clearly fed up with his opponent’s antics, Seven unleashed a series of brutal strikes on the obstinate foe and refused to break once Dar landed under the ropes. As a result, the official was forced to stop the match and give Dar the win by disqualification.
