Teddy Long will become the third member of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Class.

Teddy Long has been around the WWE for nearly 20 years, most notably as the SmackDown General Manager. He was a prominent figure on programming through the 2000’s, but has since been off TV for the past handful of years.

Well, it seems that Long is going to make a return for a special occasion. FOXSports.com and WWE.com have announced that he will become the third member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017.

In the FOX Sports piece, Long spoke to Nick Schwartz about the induction. He noted how surprised he was about being inducted and gave his thoughts below:

Well, I was really surprised, you know? I had thought about being inducted into the Hall of Fame and I thought ‘well, if they’re going to do that, I’m pretty sure my time will come one day.’ And that’s what did happen. I was real excited, it’s such an honor to be a part of something like this. To go into the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame… man, it’s just great. It don’t get no better than that.

Long is known for his multiple stints as SmackDown General Manager and in the same role for the defunct ECW brand. He became popular for his phrases like “Holla, holla, holla!” and always looking to make a tag team match. It became a running joke over the years, and even got mentioned on WWE TV in 2016 when Long made a few one-off appearances.

Long will join Kurt Angle and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express as part of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Class. They will be inducted on Friday, March 31 at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, as part of WrestleMania 33 weekend.
