The Undertaker is making a comeback to WWE this month
The Undertaker made a surprise appearance last week at a Cleveland Cavaliers game in full costume, and news broke Wednesday that the WWE icon will appear on SmackDown later this month. The Undertaker was last seen in the ring at WrestleMania 32, where he defeated Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell match.
The Mohegan Sun Arena announced The Undertaker's comeback on Twitter, and he appears as a featured star scheduled to appear on the official WWE ticket page. That episode will be the 900th episode of SmackDown.
The Undertaker's return will come just five days before Survivor Series, but it seems unlikely he'd be involved in that event, which already has a relatively packed card with three traditional Survivor Series eliminations and Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg. It's anyone's guess as to the meaning behind Undertaker's return - it could just be to celebrate a SmackDown milestone and nothing more - but it's never too early to start building toward WrestleMania 33.
Survivor Series is where The Undertaker made his WWE debut 26 years ago in 1990.
