John Cena on Future WWE Return: 'Wait and See'
Is John Cena’s WWE return potentially on the horizon?
Ever since losing clean to AJ Styles at Summerslam, John Cena has maintained a mysterious aura around him. The future hall of famer placed his ‘Never Give Up’ armband at the center of the ring following his loss. The scene left the fans to wonder what the future held for the 15-time WWE champion. Speculations of a heel turn and even retirement hit social media the next day. Despite all this, Cena has remained in the dark.
The Leader of the Cenation has not appeared on SmackDown live ever since and was noticeably absent from Backlash card as well. Cena has been backstage in most of the SmackDown live shows. He even wrestled in dark matches after the show went off the air, and took part in the WWE tour in Manila, where he battled Big Show. During all this, he has made a habit of posting cryptic tweets every now and then.
What does the future hold? Things may indeed change but as always #hustle hard and #NeverGiveUp

It is intriguing to note that Cena still holds on to his ‘Never Give Up’ tag line. WrestlingNews.co recently reported that Cena was found talking about his actions following Summerslam at Salt Lake Comic Con. During a Q&A session when he was asked about this, he responded that fans would have to wait and see over the coming weeks. While this was a casual response, it could very well mean that Cena might be returning to live TV pretty soon.
Since Styles is the new WWE champion, the idea of Cena vs. Styles for the title seems legible. But considering Cena is due for another hiatus in mid-October for shooting the second season of American Grit, one has to wonder. Moreover, another match between the two mega stars would likely reduce the impact of Styles’ win in their last encounter. Not to mention, Styles still has to deal with Dean Ambrose’s rematch clause.
