3 Questions from WWE Raw, December 12
A look at three questions from this week’s Raw as we analyze various points of the show.
The December 12 edition of Monday night Raw was all about a few powerful segments and a bunch of fillers. If you watched both the tag title matches and the Sami Zayn segment, then it would be safe to say you’ve seen it all. The New Day, as they continue to do, indeed rocked this week.
The trio would first defend their titles successfully in the opening match. They would then proceed to do the same in the main event of Raw. The fact that they did so against the 4 top main event talents on Raw adds more credibility. Elsewhere on the card, we would witness a forgettable squash match between Strowman and Curtis Axel.
Fans would also watch creative trying to place all the block before roadblock. It seems we would get a Rusev vs Big Cass showdown after all. The cruiserweight stars went to battle this week also with two matches. The only notable moment would be Jack Gallagher’s gentleman announcement that he intended to interfere in the match.
One couldn’t help but notice that some names were missing from the card. That forms the base for our first question of the night.

3. Where was Sasha Banks and/or Charlotte Fair?
WWE is clearly in the midst of its biggest Women’s revolution. Yet, the women’s division featured only a throwaway match between Alicia Fox and Bayley. The fact that fans witnessed the same only a week ago would add salt to a logical wound.
Neither the Women’s champion Sasha Banks nor Charlotte Flair made an appearance this week. The champion or the challenger would not even be in a backstage segment. The two are just a few days away from their 30-minute Iron Man match. Despite all the fuss behind that, the two of them would be noticeably absent from the three-hour show.
While fans have grown tired of seeing Sasha and Charlotte trade the title between them, creative could have used this week to some extent. After a great match two weeks back and a painful promo segment this past week, creative could have done something to build excitement for the Women’s title match. However, that would not be the case this week. It could be treated as a cool-off period before something big happens this Sunday. However, the title not being featured could take away credibility from the division.

2. Who Will Dethrone the New Day?
The New Day made history by breaking Demolition’s longest tag title reign record. The trio of Woonds, Kingston and Big E would defend the title successfully to both start and end the show this Monday. In the opening contest Kofi would get the win for the team by outlasting both The Club as well as Cesaro and Sheamus.
Again, in the main event, they would come on top of another two tag team. First there was team Chris and Kevin. Then there was two-thirds of the shield and former tag team champions, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. In a great triple threat match, Woods would finally get the win for his team and the New Day would etch their names in history.
However, the question that need to be asked now is who would dethrone them eventually? Sheamus and Cesaro are over as ever in the tag division. It would be wise to put the titles on their shoulders next. Or, creative could call The Revival to the main roster and have them challenge the tag champions. Whichever way is fine now. However, getting clean wins over all legitimate tag team on the roster makes it hard for creative to come up with credible enough challengers.

1. What Direction is Jericho Headed?
It is confusing as to whether Jericho is a heel, face or is in the grey area at the moment. He would continue to use his catchphrases like ‘stupid idiot’. This week, he teamed with Owens for a shot at capturing the tag titles. After failing to do so, Jericho would enter into an argument with Owens.
After sensing Roman Reigns was lining up for the Spear, Jericho would exit the ring causing Owens to turn around and fall prey to Reigns’ spear. This leaves us with one big question. What direction is Jericho headed? Moreover, how does all this affect his match with Rollins? It is true that a heel Jericho cost Rollins the title on numerous occasions. However, now that Rollins has established he wants a piece of the Game Triple H, where does the match with Jericho fall in the picture?
The most logical step for Jericho at the moment would be to enter into a feud with Owens. However, nothing is guaranteed at the moment and that adds to the uncertainty of his match with Rollins. There is no reason or purpose for the match anymore. Moreover, if Jericho is to move on to Owens now, he needs a win and some momentum. That would surely be bad news for Rollins.
