Tsipis gets George Washington women's hoops job
A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Notre Dame assistant Jonathan Tsipis has been hired to coach George Washington.
The person spoke Thursday night on condition of anonymity because the school has not announced the move.
Tsipis, who has been an associate head coach for the Irish for the past four seasons, will be introduced at a news conference Friday. He helped guide Notre Dame to the past two NCAA championship games. The Irish lost to Baylor 80-61 on Tuesday night.
In Tsipis' nine years in South Bend, the team has made the NCAA tournament each season, including five appearances in the regional semifinals. He succeeds Mike Bozeman, who was dismissed by the school in early March. The Colonials went 11-18 this season and were 42-75 in Bozeman's four years there.
