Tennessee F Glory Johnson has thumb surgery
Tennessee junior forward Glory Johnson is recovering from surgery on her left thumb.
Tennessee associate athletics director for sports medicine Jenny Moshak says doctors repaired a tear in a ligament in Johnson's thumb in the Monday morning surgery.
The 6-foot-3 player injured the thumb in a workout Wednesday, a week and a half after Tennessee was eliminated from the NCAA tournament in a 73-59 loss to Notre Dame in the regional finals.
Moshak says Johnson will wear a cast for about a month before undergoing rehabilitation.
Johnson played in all 37 games this season. She led the Lady Vols with 9.7 rebounds per game and ranked third on the team with 12 points per game.
