Purdue holds off Toledo in 81-79 win
Courtney Moses scored 30 points to lift No. 18 Purdue to an 81-79 win over Toledo on Sunday.
Moses was 13 of 18 from the field, with four 3-pointers, including the go-ahead jumper with 6:29 remaining in the second half that gave the Boilermakers (3-0) the lead it would hold to the buzzer. Houser added 17 points and eight assists to extend her double-digit scoring streak to 14 games.
Toledo (1-2) trailed by just 2 at the break, 41-39, and kept the game close with seven lead changes before Purdue took control in the closing minutes. Andola Dorch closed the gap to a point (80-79) on a layup with 33 seconds left, but then fouled Houser who sank a free throw to pad the Purdue win.
Dortch, who was 8 of 15 for 22 points, led five Toledo players in double-digit scoring.
