No. 25 Chattanooga women pull away from Butler 60-49

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Moses Johnson scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help No. 25 Chattanooga to a 60-49 win over Butler on Sunday.

Aryanna Gilbert and her younger sister Keiana Gilbert added 11 points apiece for the Lady Mocs (2-0), who shot 46.9 percent from the floor to take a 2-1 series lead over Butler.

Chattanooga broke away in the fourth quarter with a 14-7 run that included a 3-pointer from Chelsey Shumpert and was capped by a pair of free throws from Keiana Gilbert to make it 58-48 with 1:13 to play. The Lady Mocs protected the double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Butler (1-1), which led throughout the first quarter, closed the gap to 44-41 early in the fourth with a 3-point play by Blaire Langlois before Chattanooga pulled away for good.

Tori Schickel led Butler with 17 points and seven rebounds and Langlois finished with 16 points.
