No. 19 Oregon State survives against BYU 71-61

LAIE, Hawaii (AP) Jamie Weisner scored 20 points, including three 3-pointers, and No. 19 Oregon State survived an early scare to beat BYU 71-61 on Saturday.
Ruth Hamblin had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Beavers (5-0) and Sydney Wiese added 11 points and six assists.
BYU (3-3) jumped out to an eight-point lead with 7:43 left in the first on a pair of Morgan Bailey jumpers and a 3 by Kylie Maeda, but the Beavers erased that quickly and led 34-29 at the break.
Oregon State exploded in the second half, using an 8-0 spurt - including 3s by Weisner and Wiese - to run up a double-digit lead 5 1/2 minutes in. Later, a 9-0 run sealed BYU's fate.

BYU was led by Bailey's 26 points and nine rebounds while Lexi Eaton added 19 points and eight boards.
