No. 17 North Carolina women roll over Wake Forest 83-45
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) Allisha Gray scored 16 points and No. 17 North Carolina beat Wake Forest 83-45 on Thursday night.
Jamie Cherry added 13 points, N'Dea Bryant 12 and Latifah Coleman and Jessica Washington 10 apiece for the Tar Heels (21-6, 8-5 ACC), who defeated the Demon Deacons (10-18, 1-13) for the 13th consecutive time and the 19th straight at home.
The Tar Heels scored 40 points off of 34 turnovers. They shot 52.5 percent and made half of their 18 3-point attempts, their best percentage from beyond the arc this season.
Millesa Calicott led Wake Forest with 16 points, making four 3-pointers. Amber Campbell added 14 points and Dearica Hamby 10 rebounds. The Demon Deacons shot just 38.6 percent.
North Carolina took off to a 16-5 lead to start the game and led by 20 at halftime. The Tar Heels led by as many as 40, their largest lead this season.
