Not sure who to keep an eye on this women's basketball season? Here are a few players who should make major statements in their first seasons:

-Natalie Achonwa, 6-foot-3 forward, Notre Dame.

She got a taste of big-time basketball in the fall while playing for the Canadian national team at the women's world championship. Achonwa could make an immediate impact for the Irish filling the void in the middle left by the graduating seniors.

-Bria Hartley, 5-7 guard, Connecticut

The Big East preseason rookie of the year, Hartley will have to develop quickly to help UConn keep its winning streak alive. She impressed coach Geno Auriemma in the preseason and may be the next in a long line of talented point guards at the school.

-Natasha Howard, 6-3 forward, Florida State

One of the top recruits coming out of high school, Howard has provided a huge buzz to the program. The talented wing player had 24 points in just 19 minutes in the first exhibition game. She will be a difference maker for the Seminoles.

-Chiney Ogwumike, 6-3 forward, Stanford

Joins her older sister with the Cardinal this season. She was the top recruit out of high school and will make an instant impact on a very talented Stanford team.
