LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Kansas guard Lamaria Cole has been granted a release to transfer to Prairie View A&M, where she will be able to play closer to her family in Bryan, Texas.
Jayhawks coach Bonnie Hendrickson announced her move Thursday.
Cole started in five games and appeared in 24 during her sophomore season, averaging 2.6 points while shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 54.2 percent from the foul line.
She appeared in 35 games during her career, averaging 9.2 minutes.

The Jayhawks finished 13-19 this season.
